"His face was shining like the sun" Revelation 1:16
His face was like this on at least one other occassion. We call it the transfiguration. Matthew talks about this is Matthew 17. John was present at that time and had the same reaction as he did in the Apocalypse. He, along with Peter and James, was terrfied at the transfigured Christ. In Revelation he fell down as if he were dead as he came in contact with the Christ of the vision.
Is there room for fear when we see Jesus for who He is - completely? Then we wait for Him to say, "don't be afraid."
